 My daughter left her sandals by the patio door, as usual, and they became the subject of my Everday Objects challenge submission. There was some afternoon sunlight coming through the patio door and I wanted to capture the that feel.

- Used very narrow focus so most of the sequins were blurred. This seemed to convey the shimmer better than when in focus.
- Convert to duotone to make it more interesting. Used a warm brown ink to convey the feeling of a sunlight on a summer afternoon. (which I know is actually blue)

I gave your photo a six. I think it was a very good shot with good lighting. It just didn't jump out at me. All that brown is kind of depressing.

It just doesn't seem to have enough contrast and good focus. It wouldn't have been to bad if more of the shoes were in focus and maybe more light. Try it again or even go back into psp and see what you can do to it.
