1/4 second shutter speed with slight vertical shift. I wanted to retain a sense of the trees, but to add a dreaminess to the picture. I hoped to give it a light feel, and to show something of the dappled light - not sure I was so successful at that, but I am reasonably content with how it turned out in this respect. The trees form part of a wood near where I work, and in Spring and Summer I often take my lunch break here, sitting by a quiet pond. I view it very much as 'my place' and the photo is very much my personal interpretation of how I feel about it.

On the plus: it looks dreamy and the colours are pleasant; trees are a beautiful subject!
On the downside: the centred compo is not all that pleasing to my eyes, that is, just looking at it my eyes hit straight on the trunk in the almost middle and sort of bounce out of the picture
Overall: It has a beautiful feel, but it could be better, I think, with a more careful composition.

Disclaimer: Just my silly opinions.

First Impressions: dreamy, serene, beautiful scene; I like the forest, the colors and the textures (I love birches)
Technique: vertical movement on slow shutter, little PP
Suggestions: not sure how to emphasize light - add some luminance? But it looks good as is.

Overall great photo and spot on the style of photo impressionism I am trying to learn :)

What a lovely feeling it invokes. I also used to spend lunch breaks at a lake ages and ages ago. I miss those days.
