 A Hydrometer (along with a thermometer) measures the specific gravity, or density, of a fluid - specifically beer and wine in their various stages of fermentation - from wert and must to beer and wine.

I tried taking some pictures measuring some almost finished beer, but it was a stout so it was too dark to make a good picture.

I hope people interpret the scratches as added texture rather then finding them distracting.
