Challenge: Birds In Flight (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D3s

Aperture: f/29
ISO: 500
Shutter: 1/250
Galleries: Birds

I have never shot flying birds before. It was definitely interesting and enjoyable. I learned that birds like crossiants and I should have my shutter on 1/500...because I had to toss out a majority of my shots.

I plan on shooting them again...I can only improve:)

I know my title is lame...but I could not think of a good title.

A day into the challenge and I seem to be scoring around 5.5 range. I feel pretty good about this score. I learned a lot and feel that I can improve the next time I shoot birds.

I appreciate the comments that I have received. I have hopes that the next time around I beat my own score.

I did have trouble when I went to upload. It kept telling me my file was to big. Someone was nice enough to send me a link. Thanks for the feedback.

Haha. That really made me chuckle!

And I like the shot. And the composure makes it seem like we're looking to where the bird looks. It's a nice, crisp, simple shot. Good work! :)

A bit better lighting on the face and a bit tighter crop and you would have have something special here.

Thanks for the feedback...I'm new to bird shooting and I was having a difficult time getting the bird sharp...hence is probably why I upped the aperature...I'm sure I was not thinking it through at the time. I should have upped my shutter speed. I have since went out and tried again...I see some improvement. I will continue to work on this so I'm ready for the next bird challenge.

Thank you for your feedback I really appreciate it!

Nice shot. I think this would have been a good candidate for bw. I wish the background could be deemphasized somehow (out of focus, less contrast, motion blurred).
