Sofia got her hair cut and for some reason it gave me the idea for her to spike it and get her made up, not so much like she was boxing or fighting but more like she was working out. Maybe using a punching bag.

As is usual lately, I got tons of great shooting/editing advice from LVicari, nshapiro, paulbtlw and Tanguera.

Lightroom: Vibrance,Clarity boost
Dropped exposure 2 stops
curves and bumped sat

Photoshop: 3 passes USM
spot healing/clone
dodge/burn on the eyes
kodak air brush
silver efex

Prediction: 5.6

Great look and lighting. I really love it in b&w.

As she said herself there's a lot of attitude in this image. The eyes stare you down. Very nice.

The only criticism I can say here is that in your notes you said you got her to spike up her hair. It's very difficult to see that with the image. It might have been possible to selectively lighten the hair a tad to give the attitude more umph. Perhaps not though. The face is great. It's the focal point of the image really. So maybe if the hair was more noticable it would have taken away from that. It's hard to say without seeing what happens to the image when that's done.

Perhaps there's a bit too much of a nose shadow under her nose too. And of her left hand on her arm/shoulder. Though maybe this adds to it. I don't know. I certainly wouldn't have taken marks off for it anyway.

Great portrait. I have to say I think I prefer the color version, though. It just pops, and it's nearly criminal to go B&W with her eyes. Nice one.

Yes. Best portrait of the month. Welcome respite from the execrable 'glamour' portraits that diminish both model and photography. Thank you.
