i can't put my finger on it but the lighting really gives the lettuce an unappetizing feel |

With sharper focus at the top and more dramatic contrast I think would be a fantastic shot. I really like your subject. |

LOL! Looks like someone's hair from the back. Sorry, but this lettuce seems awfully wilted to me... (not voting) |

I don't know if it is the light or the BnW or if this lettuce is really wilted and dead. Either way, Weston had a way of using light to make the subject come alive and look incredibly lustrous, and, for me, you did not do that here. |

This is good. Weston's cabbage shot was all about the form and the texture. Here, you got the form well but with a different perspective. Lettuce has a different texture which is shown nicely here being smooth and veiny with a sheen. One thing that sticks out is with the background being soooo deep black, the subject looks very two-dimensional. You got the light draping on the subject fairly well! |
