Brilliant photo. This feels like a ribbon to me. I can find much to praise and nothing but nit picky minor things to nag about. It's such a beautiful image, I'll resist the temptation and only wish you well in the scoring.

One of nature's mort graceful objects for sure. The shell itself is wonderful but the large white area at the top right is really terribly distracting. Your multi-layered border is yucko for me.

the blow out is distracting... would be a ribbon with a tighter crop to get rid of the harsh white

Since you have cut across the right hand border anyway I would have gone further and cut crop even more to the left and from the top, make it more focussing on the spiral, not on the total shape.
