I skipped Weston, mainly because I don't much like Weston. So looking at a collection of faux-Weston seemed an unnecessary self-flagellation. But had I been up for a bit of S&M I'd have writhed in delight at this one.
First level of pleasure is the seeing. The anthropomorphism. Though at our age the hip joint can never be taken for granted.
Second level is the juxtaposition of the corporeal decaying with the purity of the small flowers. The corporeal outlasts the ephemeral, but only at some cost to beauty and discomfort.
Third level is the quality of the craft; so beautifully bracketing the tonal weights of the juxtaposition.
That's as far as I've got. I'm only a third-level S&M Master: black & white belt. |

Underappreciated, well seen. I also see lots of bones. |

In fact, the more I look at it, the more it looks like a skeleton - not just the hip joint! |

Great job with personifying an everyday object. Mr Weston would be proud. |

Really like this. Well seen and presented. An odd subject shape to see but it certainly is an intriguing shot and the little flowers is what makes you stop and have a closer look. Without this...it could very well go flying by without noticing the shapes in this |
