A newly opened flower bud on my Star Magnolia. We then had a cold snap that froze most of the petals ... some years the tree is spectacular, and other years the flowers freeze and die. Such is life. Need to capture those fleeting moments of beauty while I have them!
PP - flipped right, cropped, duotone filtered on red/orange, tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), erased all but flower and near part of branch and merged with original at 10% transparency, increased contrast, softened some background shadows, resized, sharpened, blurred background more, added border. |
