Amazing detail and great color. However, to me this misses compositionally, even though the eye is in the sweet spot for the rule of thirds. The problem, to my eye, is that the detail is "increasing" with the folds to the right, and yet it's cropped off there. Just looks to me here that if the eye were in the upper left sweet spot it would work better. Also, the brighter area in the back left distracts a little. |

Very cool, but, I think it could use a better composition. It just looks odd with the eye where it is. |

the detail in the eye is pretty interesting. on the downside, the glare or flare in the top left corner draws my eye away from the frog's eye. |

Do you macro with a telelense, how did you get the frog to sit still? |

Wow! What detail in that iris! And great colors too, like real gold. I like the DOF and how it highlights the eye by having it sharp while everything else is soft. I wish there were a bit more included on the right - just another 1/4 of an inch - I like the deep blue of the wrinkles and it would feel more complete. 9 |

Very dramatic image. I like the dramatic contrast. Colors add to the sense of mystery. Detail in the eye is wonderful -- evidence of careful focus, lighting and DOF. GREAT capture. |

Now that is close-up! Wonderful - and it must be way more than 1:1. Exposure is perfect and DoF is actually great for such close-up work. |

Wow, that'll keep me up nights. This image goes to the point of the "eeewwww" factor, why my daughter hates macro-ing bugs and stuff. Outstanding compositional sense and superb technique. This one will score high. |
