Our awesome snowshoe siamese, Bruce. I swear, I've never done a "cat" pic on here before :-) My wife suggested it because she had the little siamese cat figure, so I thought I'd humor her, and was happy with the result. She got a lot of laughs watching me crawl around on the floor trying to convince Bruce to "pose" for me. hehehe
Took a lot of shots to get that one.
lighting was the room overheads and a halogen lamp
in photoshop, i adjusted levels, brightness and contrast just a little, and then tried (something new I just taught myself, yay!) I gaussian blurred a layer real heavy, then brought the opacity way down on it, then hit it with a little usm
I felt this gave it a softer look without being actually all blurry. I'm sure it is not a top contender, but my hopes are for my personal best. I feel that I got away from the "snapshot" look for maybe the first time. I don't think it's too bad for my camera.
thanks for checking out my pic :-D |

Could be improved by bringing the foreground into focus. Maybe put the subjects in a different setting. |

I would have preferred focus on the miniature cat. 5. |

nice idea, I think the toy should be sharp and the cat not I think it would work better that way |

Would have been much better if with proper depth-of-field |

I think a little more depth of field would be good here. |

I like it better if the miniature was focus... |

did you sneeze on your lense or was there a small brush fire nearby that caused the haze |

Good idea, good composition, but needs more depth of field to get both cats in focus. |

Focus should probably be on the miniature, as that's what this challenge was about. |
