 While out shooting dragonflies for the Cool Colors Challenge this guy flew in. It’s only the first week of April so this is more of a filler as I hope to get better shots during the month (going camping soon). I really like the composition the bird allowed for as well as the bokeh effect. I wish the branch behind it wasn’t coming out of its head but I feel it’s too significant to the shot and cloning it out may result in a DQ. Ha! As if I would ever finish high enough or produce an interesting enough shot to be required to submit an original. But rules are rules and I am a conformer.

If this stays as my entry I believe there is enough eye candy here to score in the mid to high 5’s. I’m still hopeful to get a shot that I really like and get my standard high 4 to low 5’s.

Now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head! Nice shot, though. I think I'd blur the background a bit more to soften some of those bright branches.

We learned that song in elementary school and I still remember it. Nice light and bokeh here.
