Could be a case of Back to the Future? You have certainly transformed an interesting antique into something sci-fi. The comment from Bear_Music gives us great background info.

Thanks for the info, Robert! Knew she was special, just couldn't remember the details.

Not one of the "first" power boat racers, no, but Hubert Scott-Paine, the designer and driver, received a hero's welcome in Great Britain after nearly upsetting Gar Woods and his 4-engined Miss America X in a race for the Harmsworth Trophy in 1933. Miss Great Britain III was a much smaller boat, with only a single engine. She was the first single-engined boat to go over 100 mph.

This is a very cool shot, beautifully processed, and the boat's a wonderful piece of maritime history; she was years and years ahead of her time, design-wise.

Well, you achieved that, it wouldn't look out of place in a Star Wars scene.

Steve, if my memory serves me correctly, this was one of the first (if not the first) power boat racers ever made, named Miss Britain III (can see the name inscribed by the cockpit). Photo was taken at the National Maritime Museum in London.

A healthy dose of Topaz Adjust and Detail, and heavily PP'd in LR3 with the adjustment brush to get rid of the distracting background and give it a "spacey futuristic" look.

Here's the original:
