Ah well 49th out of 285 is not bad. My first two entries, this one and one in the macro (84th) Thanks for all the helpful comments. The images on this forum are very impressive, glad I joined.

ah the elusive blue note! so tough on a piano, at least for me! :) very crisp shot and technically well done lighting--which ironically is the only thing i might like to see done differently...when i think of blue note, i think of dark, smoky, velvety jazz/blues/swing clubs where the lighting is as cool and hip as the music. maybe a little more subtle, less even lighting would work for this shot as well--highlighting the 'blue note', but still giving a little more atmosphere. make sense? :) great idea, and very nicely done shot.

Cool composition! The blueness looks a little too much like a plain old gradient fill, but otherwise, it's fabulous.
