 I have been in a huge dpc score rut, and would love for this to do at least decently. I really wanted to submit another much more interesting and conceptual chalk work I did, but while I did really well conveying the "burden" of sadness, the whole thing didn't end up that sad, so I am submitting my backup. Maybe the other can be a Free Study entry.

I know the tear drops kind of look like they are coming from the nose, but I am hoping voters give me the benefit of the doubt. I did have a shot that made it more clear, but I didn't think I had more of a neutral expression and the composition was awkward so I decided against it.

this is a really great image. I'm still surprised it didn't do better. top 10 atleast. When people have such different definitions for 'sadness' its very hard to do well. there were a couple people who didn't think my entry showed sadness at all. I feel it did though.

This entry for me shows sadness. And its your own take on sadness. That's what makes it yours and wonderful! This is sharp, colors are great! i was one of many who gave this a 6, but i wish i could have given it an 8. (btw i hope you got out of that score rut) =]
