photos of chess games are often very boring for me. to take my attention on these kinds of photos it needs a perfect composition and also perfection in techniks. I can't see both here.
You tried to catch some bokeh with the grid in background. this is nowhere near as good as a naturally bokeh, IMO.
My eyes get a littel bit confuse, where is the main subjekt?
Going with naturally light is a good idea, to bad you used it in an unflattering way.
Sorry, I can't find really good words for your work.
