The border, backdrop, contrast, expression, composition, lighting and pose work perfect together.

Great shot! I do think making the border all black may help.

I'm not sure what to say about this other than 6.2 for a portrait in a free study--nice work! The border here is excellent. I don't think it hurts the image at all. It 'really tied the room together' as a dude once said.

The only criticism I can draw from this image is to do with the lighting. Mostly I think it's excellent. But there's a dark shadow of her right ear on her face. It's hard to say, but I think that was that not there it would have worked better. Just a small thing that I doubt would be greatly noticed at all. I think it would have been nice to see how her hair falls there is all.

Great portrait though. Great processing and capture and lighting.

Love the pose, the B&W tones, the background, very nice. Not fond of the border cutting through her arm.

A most striking portrait. The light hitting the back of her neck feels a bit hot. But what do I know. An eight for you.
