 An old marble, which I've had for 20 years at least.

Taken lit with a single incandescent light, defused through a bit of white paper. Camear mounted a tripod and using self timer.

Post processing in the gimp was just crop, scale, USM and border. Although the challenge is advanced editing, I couldn't be othered, as it's 1:30am here.. Yawn.

Though the subject was good, the background is a huge distraction in my opinion. (too busy) A white background would have worked much better.

Is this a marble pic and a jeans pic all in one?! Good marble shot. Better than the last one I saw. This is nice and sharp on the subject. Good title, I like how we can see the nicks in the marble.

I have no idea what it is - should I be able to tell from the title? is it a glass eye taken out?

I like this. May have benefitted from a more diffused light source (i.e. Outside on a cloudy day) The square highlight distracts (IMO) 48 hour challenge you don't always get the opportunity to experiment with natural/artificial lighting. On the whole excellent. I expect to see this in the top 10. I hope my vote helps. (8)
