My daughter was such a cooperative model for this challenge. I have to have taken 100 shots of her in various positions. I chose my favorite and realized that I set my date wrong when I changed batteries in the middle of the shoot. Sooo I had to pick my second choice.
This was my first attempt at selective desat. After reading all the tutorials, I discovered that my Paint Shop Pro version does not have a desat option, so I had to get creative to achieve the same effect.
No matter how this photo does, I am extremely please with it.

Really perfect for that challenge. It has great detail and I love the saturation of color in the eye. GREAT!

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Good subject for selective desaturation (and for a Blue challenge). The treatment really shows off the interesting patterns in the iris. My inclination would have been to crop off the top part, but that would not have been as effective; the (mostly) negative space at the top somehow makes the image more dramatic.

The photo is technically well done. Focus, exposure, and sharpness are all great, as is your editing. As with most photos, lighting is very important, and could be improved here. Some of the bright spots (especially the relatively large bright spot on the iris) are distracting and could have been avoided with slight adjustments to the lighting.

Overall a nice image, one you can justly be proud of.

Very nice eye shot. Super clean and crisp focus. Beautiful blue eye, interesting texture. Great desaturated tones too, the level of brightness is perfect.

Position her to the side and you would get a better view, Her eyes looks too wet and icky and her skin looks oily. But the image is lookin good 8

Nice shot. Cropping the right side and top would have helped I think.

great shot! It would have been better to not have the white reflection in the iris.
