 Close up of the innards in action on my upright piano that I had to disassemble a bit for the shot. Technically not hammers but back checks, but ultimately they rock the hammers to hit the strings.

I setup the camera on a tripod, 10 sec delayed exposure. It took a while to match shutter speed and piano action to the the effect I wanted. My original vision to to capture hands, keys, and all the action up to the hammers in the shot. In the end I had to limit the field of view to capture enough motion for my satisfaction.

I am assuming the orange color cast is intentional by using the wrong white balance.
