 This is a (dimmed) 40W ceiling fan bulb with a blue lighting gel behind it, with a light bouncing off a piece of white foamcore that was behind the gel.

Just some minor cloning of dust and removal of stray reflections, and a little burning in the corners.

Shot with the Canon 100mm/2.8 Macro

i dont see the radiance :)
but i really like the blue... would have benefitted from a bit more light on the innner coils imo. 8

Oooh! Fabulous! This is one of my favorite pics ever! Makes me wonder if this is EddyG's or bod's image (my idols)... hmmm.... I love the hot/cold color contrast and the whole way the clear bulb looks with the blue background. I'd really like to know how it was done (blue cloth background lit from the sides?). The colors are vivid, everything is clean and sharp. The composition is simple and elegant. I like how the background fades to a darker shade in the upper left and lower right corners; it balances the photo because of the angle the bulb is at. BRILLIANT!!! 10

Nice. THis is a low key image. thats nice and i like the way how you make the light inside glow. and i can see how theres no glare on or inside the blub and i like the way you separate the glass from the background GREAT Job 9

This is in the upper area of my voting, however I strongly feel that a large but subtle softbox reflection on the upper left of the outer glass bulb would have made this a good bit better - still a good shot...

Some good lightbulbs... and some GREAT lightbulbs. This is great. Very nice photo... got to be top 3. You get a 9 from me..

The only slight thing that bothers me is the composition, a tighter crop maybe?
