 I'm not expecting this image to do particularly well, but it's definitely an idea that I wouldn't mind pursuing one day to get the perfect shot. I would have preferred to have used a model other than my own very un-attractive eye for the pic and spent a bit more time on post-processing. However I guess that's the nature of a fast challenge like this!

The original pic looks nothing like the submission - as it was midnight when I took the pic there were lots of tired little blood vessels which have been removed, plus blue added for impact, the blue was sharpened and an extra blue layer was put over the top to add even more blue. The highlights you see are in fact fake - I only used my Canon 420EX flash, stamped out the reflection of it and then created these little reflections to make it seem studio lit.

Was still fun to do :)
