Hand-held camera, at about 4:00-4:30 in the afternoon, at the local botanical garden.
In order to obtain a macro, I had to lean over the edge of a pond and held my camera and neck strap sort of like a sling shot. That enabled me to get close enough to shoot in macro mode. It was a little unnerving since there have recently been two 'gator attacks, with one fatality. I was very cautious, and studied my surroundings carefully before composing the shot.
In PS I used the dodge and burn tools, and curves, and cropped.

| Stunning interpretation of a water lily. Very dramatic. Good one. Maybe a little soft in the center... but those petals are exceptional. |
