No, this is not Wendy's. If it were Wendy's, it would be a better photograph, have better editing, and would score significantly higher.
It is, however, a shot taken on 17 mile drive, on a jaunt with Bear_Music, so there's that. And I Topaz'd the crap out of it, and added a vignette, so there's that, too.
Hoping for a 5.2. Johanna will kick butt with her shot of Susan, though!

Sigh. I really do think this meets the challenge. Doesn't it? It's a cute little critter, and his color definitely matches that of the background, at least to me. The composition is relatively uncluttered (critter, ground, no more), and uncluttered is a good thing at DPC, isn't it? So what is the problem here?

A less cooked (and my preferred) edit. Not that it would have made any difference. I was going for the DPC-friendly processing with the entry... apparently I didn't do it right, though!
By the way, this was shot with the 10-22 and he was just in front of my knee. He let me pet him. I think he was hoping for a snack. I told him to go see Wendy - she'd give him peanuts! :-)
Poor little thing.

I love this one, I didn't get to vote on that challenge, but I think yours is kind of different of what we usually see. I think it deserves a better score.
I like your processing. I think I would have given it a 6. I find animal shots to be charming when they make eye contact with the photog. It really is a cute shot!
