everything with the USA flag or something like that is a BIG TURNOFF, Thats not a good thing to love a land like USA

This is stretching it for me. It took me a couple of moments to figure out it was an outline of the US. Someone else will probably think it is brilliant. I don't really see an outline map as a miniature, at any rate.

"Compose and photograph something "miniature" in such a way that it conveys to the viewer that the subject of your photo is a tinier version of something that is normally larger."

The "U" is sloppy. The picture is overexposed (no contrast w/ white pins near the top). Focus needs to be tighter. Shadows are harsh. Missing the 3rd " . " pin.

What's miniature in the picture?
08/07/2004 10:10:34 AM
I can't see the challenge here - sorry

I find it difficult to see that this says USA, perhaps doing it on a bigger scale would make it easier to read? Also the white drawing pins / thumbtacks don't stand out very well againts the white background.

forgive me for being dense, but i'm not sure how this meets the challenge. it appears to be more of a macro shot that could use a little sharpening. the lighting is also a little strong.

whats mini here
08/05/2004 01:10:27 PM
Doesn't really seem to be miniature but I like the photo anyway. Nice lighting.

You have a good clear picture, but where is the challenge? Aren't all push-pins the same size?
08/05/2004 09:51:50 AM
Is this a miniature?
08/05/2004 05:45:00 AM
I'm affraid this does not adhere to the subject at all. Pins are tiny by definition. The idea is not that brilliant either
08/05/2004 02:01:39 AM
good for you. Now where's your entry to the contest so I can rate it?
08/05/2004 12:06:38 AM
Amazing, these mini tacks look just like regular size tacks.
08/04/2004 11:50:06 PM
aren't these actual size?
08/04/2004 05:55:33 PM
Where is the comparison object for us to believe the tacks are miniature?
08/04/2004 04:38:33 PM
Not too original..or better said it doesn't seem like much effort went into this. Pretty bright. Try covering your lights with a bit of tissue.

Miniature pushpins...? Are there "regular size" pushpins, too?
08/04/2004 09:58:45 AM
Doesn't fit the topic well.
