 Almeria Middle School.

post processing was:

3 exposure HDR/ tonemapped w/ photomatix.
desaturation of the shadows.

rotation/crop

ADJUSTMENT LAYERS:
curves with a mask (only used to make the street address visible)
brightness/constrast
color balance
black and white (set to darken -- changes the sky color from bright blue to a more moody aqua)


SPOT EDITS::
Cloned out a weird halo area.
dodging/burning of the "Almeria" sign for a bit more contrast
A bit of dodging/burning in the clouds

sharpened using the high-pass method.

expectations:
I actually expect this to do well. I hope people understand the image and take a bit more time with it.

I liked it also but it is my type of photo rather than one that appeals to a lot of voters who like eye-candy.

I think this is excellent. I didn't get to view/vote in the challenge but i would have scored this very highly. Wonderful ominous feel to it. Clouds are great and the composition works splendidly.

Wow. No comments during voting.

I like the processing. It gives it a very ominous feeling. What I think may have hurt you is that without the title, I have no idea what I am supposed to be seeing, other than a middle school. I honestly didn't even notice the fence until I read the title.
