Here's something completely different from me. I've been busy with my business since taking the head first plunge into full time photography as a primary income. I haven't entered many portraits into challenges and none of them were made using strobes.

I used four strobes with and without softboxes, grids, barn doors, and gels. Again, totally new for me but I have been using them a lot lately for my dance studio photography. This was from my latest dance studio shoot which involved 6 days averaging 5 hours per day. I really enjoyed working with the owners of the dance studio who were as meticulous and as attentive to detail as I am.

They said that they don't simply want the usual posed look of typical dance photos. I think that this is a little different than the norm.

Not sure how this pulls a 5.6 - should have been much, much higher IMO.

To me, her pose seems forced. She doesn't look comfortable at all. That being said, I like the smoke and the lighting.

And her stockings are wrinkled.

The pose seemed very awkward -- but it could have worked: awkward can be extremely interesting. I think the problem is that her expression seems lifeless. The lighting, the smoke, all the rest is very nicely done. It just needed a little life to it. (6, btw)

Gave it a 5. She looks uncomfortable and awkward and I am not a fan of horizontal portraits.

I like this but I think she looks very awkwardly positioned and it's not natural. The smoke is nice but I think a different pov/crop would improve it.

The wrinkled stockings.... a minor detail has badly effected an otherwise interesting and well executed shot.
