This is a captive tawny owl from the British Wildlife Centre on the Surrey / Sussex borders. My obsession with primes means I almost invariably had the wrong lens on at any one time during their little fly-by display, but this close encounter seemed adequate for the purpose. A 2x teleconverter was used to get to 400mm (hence f5.6 and ISO 400)
