Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon
Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon
We could float among the stars together, you and I
For we can fly we can fly
Up, up and away
My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
The world's a nicer place in my beautiful balloon
It wears a nicer face in my beautiful balloon
We can sing a song and sail along the silver sky
For we can fly we can fly
Up, up and away
My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
Suspended under a twilight canopy
We'll search the clouds for a star to guide us
If by some chance you find yourself loving me
We'll find a cloud to hide us
We'll keep the moon beside us
Love is waiting there in my beautiful balloon
Way up in the air in my beautiful balloon
If you'll hold my hand we'll chase your dream across the sky
For we can fly we can fly
Up, up and away
My beautiful, my beautiful balloon
Balloon...
Up, up, and away.....

Capture objects in the air. Use a fast shutter speed to capture objects off-the-ground in an unusual way. Through your camera, photograph the world in suspended animation unlike you normally would.

This doesn't meet the contest criteria. Completely ordinary.

Capture objects in the air.

yep. it's floating.

Use a fast shutter speed to capture objects off-the-ground in an unusual way.

I think I used 1/500. I was laying on the ground and my son was standing over me. That's unusual for me lol. (But now that someone broke down the English for me, I can see where it would say that the object must be off the ground in an unusual way. Even tho that still really sounds stupid.)

Through your camera, photograph the world in suspended animation unlike you normally would.

So what is this supposed to mean and how does that fit with the previous sentence? I think they should have just left this sentence out. For me "unlike I normally would" means that I took this in darker hours, shot from the ground, and used a higher ISO to get that grain. I would not normally do this.

I can handle the low score for this btw. I knew it was not a pretty DPC shot so I had no expectations of even breaking the 5.00 barrier. But I still don't think it's DNMC.

What a litany of wonderful comments. I unapologetically gave it a nine.

good use of shadow, good minimal composition.

I love the suddenness and sadness of this. Anything more in the frame -- even the rest of that finger -- would have been gratuitous.

I would like the balloon to be more in focus. The balance and composition are good.

Nice idea. Seems like it's a little underexposed, but it's a great start!

I don't feel that the graininess really adds anything to this shot. It also looks like there is a con trail in the sky, would have been nice to have had the plane showing on the other side of the balloon..
