Challenge: Free Study 2011-05 (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-50D
Lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Location: Bash Bish Falls
Date: May 31, 2011
Galleries: Landscape, Nature
Date Uploaded: May 31, 2011

I submitted this image with 10 seconds to go, hence the horrendous title. I never come up with good titles anyway though : )

Handheld image using a boulder as a makeshift tripod.

I have no idea how tall the falls really are, but I think they look much smaller in this image.

Editing:
- Used the overlay mode to add some contrast.
- Used an adjustment layer to slightly desaturate the rocks and to make the leaves greener (as opposed to that "new leaf" yellow).
- USM

I gave you a 6 vote .. I found it a bit of an awkward composition .. I enjoyed the photo as a snapshot but not something I'd hang on my wall. The whites of the falls (though well done) were (for me) too overpowering in the overall shot. The rocks look too heavy against the whites of the falls .. some dodge and burn of the rocks might have been helpful in this shot to balance it out. Hope this helps :)

I like it a lot. One thing that may have driven scores down a little is that the large rock in the center is slightly washed out. Maybe try a little dodge and burn on that center rock (if you have PS).
