 This is not as minimalist as I wanted and I'm going for 4 scores over 6 in a row so lets see if this holds out or not.

Went back to my frequently visited place at Coronation Dam in Krugersdorp to shoot the sun set. I was hoping for a less dramatic sky for this challenge but WOW the sky turned out to be amazing so I couldn't not enter it.

Manual blend of 2 shots using a gradient and luminosity masks. One for sky and one for land. Also used a few layers with varying blending modes to get the sky to look exactly like it did when I was shooting. Pushed a high radius sharpen to get some contrast in the sky. Crop a bit off the right and clone out a few distracting ligths in the distance. prperold sharpening action and resize.

Yes this didnt do as well as I had hoped for but I do realise it is not as minimalist to do well in this challenge. I did however like the amazing clouds so I entered it regardless. Scores that fit a challenge are nice but nice shots are always in your portfolio. I am happy to have got this shot.

I suspect based on your comments that you were a little disappointed with the score as it fell below your hopes. I think you probably also know why this may have scored lower than you hoped.

In my personal opinion, I do think it is perhaps not minimal enough to succeed in this specific challenge. It's odd, but I think the wonderful detail in the sky pushes out of minimalist landscape zone. Maybe just my opinion, but I suppose a few others must have thought so too, or I feel you would surely have scored much much higher. This is a wonderful sunset shot and I am envious that you were able to capture it.

I haven't got any smart suggestions for you on how to make it better, it doesn't need making better :) It is certainly a very lovely image, but just falls short in the minimalist category.
