This is a nice, scenic image, but there is really nothing in this image to suggest scale or anything is miniature in size. The foreground foliage appears to be real, suggesting the waterfall is real and large. If the foliage was miniature, something should have been beside it to show that it wasn't. |

Ahhh...know where you were! I was here too, same week, but only down below. (don't see that you got me in the pic) Lovely place on earth, no? What a roar it made in this unusually wet July!!! This is a great capture.
I know the answer to the question your title poses...so I don't quite see it as answering my interpretation of the challenge. Perhaps a polarizing filter would have minimized the flare on the highlights in the mist and (not surprisingly) dull sky above the falls?
Hope you're "local"! It'd be nice to meet another dpc'r whose been to Taughannock Falls ! |

Because of the conifer trees and the rockface, is quite obviosly a large (or at least normal sized) waterfall but that is besides the point since this was not a challenge about forced perspective (which you failed to achieve) but a challenge to photograph a miniature version of something in such a way that it is clear that it is a miniature version of something.
"Compose and photograph something "miniature" in such a way that it conveys to the viewer that the subject of your photo is a tinier version of something that is normally larger." |

I don't really get the mimi in this but I couldn't stop looking at this picture, it is so unbelieveably beautiful, I wish I were there. |

I like the wide angle effect and the flowers in the foreground. Perhaps the image should not be so centered. |

The idea of the challenge is to show its size. Not to pose the question. Sorry. |

Nice nature shot - good looking waterfall. The yellow daisies add a nice touch. Your composition is a bit too centered to be really effective. Finally, you were supposed to shoot something that was a tinier version of something that is normally larger. This is not one. |

Really nice photo... I think it may score lower than it should because people will not take it as minuature enoygh.
But i like this photo |

the foreground makes it clear that there is nothing miniature in the pic - nice scene though |

while this looks like a stunning place, i'm having a hard time stretching this landscape to meet the challenge of miniature. |

Didn't meet the challenge. There is supposed to be something in the photo to show that what I'm seeing is a miniature compared to the real thing. |

I'm fairly certain a waterfall cannot be miniature. |

This photograph made me homesick, I lived like 30 minutes away in Cortland, so I used to go here a lot. Now I'm out in Oregon going to college and i only get to see the falls maybe once a year. |

I don't think this meets the requirements for the assignment. |

I think it's huge. It doesn't really fit the challenge...but that's okay, most of the shots don't. |

An interesting idea, but not really a miniature. Good landscape photo. |
