Large adirondack chair sculpture at the Duke Ellington School in Georgetown. The quality of this shot could be better but I'm submitting anyway. I made minor changes to contrast, brightness and color in photoshop elements.

My score is about what I would expect for this shot. I was trying to make the chair appear to be normal size and the model miniature. For many voters I didn't pull this off. I wanted to go back and take this shot again with my model in a light colored dress but didn't have time.

To my mind this is the exact opposite of the challenge theme - this chair is huge and makes the lady look small. Instead of taking a picture of a miniature item you took a picture of a giant thing.

This looks like a composite. Is it?

strictly speaking, what you've got here is an example of "giant" rather than "miniature". Unless of course that's a genuinely teeny tiny lady, in which case, crikey!

Wow, where in the heck did you find that thing?! It's great. I want one.

Is this a huge chair? The model disappears into the tree quite a bit, a white shirt/top woudl have made her stand out a bit more maybe...

Oh wow! Do you really have a chair this big in your backyard?
08/07/2004 09:24:59 AM
I recognize that chair! Good idea, the model sort of blends in to the background though. 7

What a big chair ... Excellent shot. There may be more contrast between the model and the background. <7>

Is the girl supposed to be a miniature?
08/05/2004 05:04:07 PM
forgive me for being dense, but i'm not sure how this meets the challenge. maybe i just don't get it, but what i'm seeing seems like it would fit a challenge called 'oversized'. all the same, it's a nice shot. could probably use a little more contrast between the girl and the tree (maybe if shot from the other side of the chair?).

If this was really done without editing, it's amazing!

Kind of a reversal; I like it.

interesting, overall image is a bit on the dark side though... for example the womans shirt is almost the same tone as the tree behind her.
