A close-up view of bumble bee mouth parts including tongue and palp.

The image was rotated 180, i.e. the bee was under a leaf. Had to use a camera stand to capture it with out blurring it out as it was dark under the leaf.

WOW! I don't know how to get such great shots of these tiny living creatures all around, but love to see those that can.

Obvious use of a tripod, or any other long-term stabilization tool (1-10 *is not the score of the shot though*): 7
I know how hard it is to get these types of shots up close, but with the right lighting it can be done handheld.

Very cool getting the tongue out like that.

Obvious tripod use: For me, it's low. Seems like a shot like this would actually be a lot easier to do by hand since your subjects are likely to move quickly.

Great shot, but it's not completely obvious to me that a tripod was required to capture it.
