|I was very unsure if I would get an entry into this contest with the short timeframe. Most of the fireworks here happened on Saturday or Sunday night, before the contest even started. But on Tuesday afternoon I found out that the local Elver Park fireworks were to be shown that night! Unfortunately, my wife and I had birthing class, so I didn't get to travel to them. Much to my surprise, I could see them from my back porch (they shoot them from a very tall hill). I had to compete with the trees and houses, but I did get some nice shots.
I really like how this one turned out. Seeing the bright white center with the squiggly protrusions is something fairly unique, so I hope this does well. I believe this is my first entry using the 100-400L, which was definitely needed from this distance (these fireworks were over 2 miles away.
