Been a while since I submitted anything here. I was feeling rusty heading out with a friend, trying to find some good subjects for photographing. Luckily we stumbled upon this old majestic tree sitting alone in the field.

Tried different angles as the tree was quite interesting, but only this shot was stood out for any contest here this week.

I wish the foreground was slightly better exposed.

I love tree shots and I think you did good here. You got the right angle and perspective on the tree. It is a hair off of rule of thirds for composition which detracts. You are also running into the same problem I have around here... lone trees in the field with a tree line in the background. The best solitary tree shots are shot with a very bare background and great sky!

A photo like this really takes the viewer's eyes away from your intended subject. That grass in the foreground and the bright white clouds in the distant background are what my eyes went to first, then finally the tree.

Nice composition, a bit dark for my taste.

The greens are quite a bit underexposed. Was this shot in raw? Perhaps it could have been corrected.
