I like the out-of-the-box thinking here. Having the legs in focus and the body not gives the perception that the spider's a good distance away. It also plays on the relative concept of "from a distance," since the photo seems to be from the prey's point of view. |

This doesn't seem far away, but DMNC aside, the subject is not in focus. Well, two of its legs are, but I'm not feeling it's enough to save this image. |

I like your image, and I understand your intention, but I think this is beyond OOB. No way can a macro fit the challenge when the directions specifically say "... a photograph of something far away." |
