Inspired by the likes of and .

I knew this wasn't a strong entry. It wasn't for lack of trying. Ben's is an easier style to be inspired by than it is to emulate. So this falls somewhere in between...

Thanks for all the comments!

I feel the mass and the almost threatening stuttery shake of extremities.

Enchanted no more. Love the energy and dark ominous tones in the tree.

It was a dark and stormy night as Treebeard dreamed his way through the torrential and violent gusts common to the disenchanted dark side...;-)

Or, maybe I just recently saw this image at the bottom of my coffee cup where I tried to read my fortune...;-)

7 from me, Brian!

much enjoyed. i felt like your entry and my entry are friends, diptych perhaps. even the titles hint at some similar darkness.

Other sorts of trouble...I wonder...

I really like the background, fantastic low contrast textured detail

I gave this a 7 as I truly loved the feeling of being a child and lying on the ground beneath a huge tree a squinting at it until it became a monster that would come alive and chase me almost near home and then devour me ... I was an unusual child I might mention .. I love what almost amounts to abstracts - enough of the original photo so one can come up with a real story that has substance but not enough to take away from the imaginary parts where childhood awake dreaming allows the unthinkable to take place .. this should have done better.. but I have said or thought that about many of the entries .. I admit I don't know a lot about Ben's style but enough to know that is closer to some of the higher voted shots.

good blur, evoking wind and other sorts of trouble

It does feel disenchanted. I believe anymore contrast would take that feeling away. Nice photo.

The background looks etched, a wonderful effect.

I really studied this image in order to see. I like the perspective and the blur only after I figured it out. Looks more like day dreaming as a child when I would lay on the ground and look up at the sky and let my mind wonder. (voted earlier)
