 This shot took a lot of effort- luckily the Salvation Army store had a trench coat, a fedora and a wide tie. I shot in my basement with a light on me from the side and a spot light coming from the other direction to create the shadow of the knife. I was triggering the photos using a remote release, so it was tough to gauge the shadows and lighting and I had to work by trial and error.

Post processing involved adjusting exposure for the trench coat which was all shadow in the original, underexposed shot, conversion to black and white, increase brightness and contrast, USM, crop, resize and saving as JPG.

Nice concept. I wish the light surrounding the knife was a bit more diffused, and not quite such a spotlight. Wonderful shadows!

Nice work on the shadow play, have no idea how people achieve this effect. Maybe the man's face should have a more dramatic expression though, considering he is about to be attacked.

cracks the case...and then gets bumped off! This is a nice setup (no pun intended!) and the shadows and lighting work really well here.

I like the lighting and the shadows. I like how the guy is looking back. With that said, the background to me is too sterile. Doesn't bring about any atmosphere/mood. Otherwise, good attempt.
