 I wanted to do something a bit different than a clock photo for this contest, since I'm sure there will be plenty of those. Unfortunately, I couldn't think of a good metaphor for "time" so I instead took the opportunity to photograph the only sundial I know about in Madison. I was happy to find the flowers to one side of the sundial still in decent bloom, which gave a good backdrop to the photo. I tried a number of different angles and focus points so that I would have choices back home when viewing full screen. In the end, this photo is what most matched my vision for the shot.

Would have been REALLY cool if we could have actually saw the "time" on the sundial. Pretty good photo and meets the challenge well.

Impressive DOF control. The bokeh has something of Monet... and yet the spider thread bring us back to reality. There is a lot in that single pic.

Nice rule of thirds example, but it feels like this could have been a good picture to violate the rules.
