 My first night at Dinosaur Provincial Park we had an amazing night sky where we could clearly see the Milky Way.

A little light painting was planned but I wanted to incorporate the Milky Way as well. 1600 ISO, f/4, 30 seconds was good for the stars but I had to do my painting pretty quickly as a result (around 4 - 5 seconds is all I had).

Post processing was just levels and noise reduction and JPG export.

FINALLY this is over... Thank you to everyone who kindly pointed out that I put this in wrong challenge :)
Seriously though, I appreciate that people realized I goofed and gave me a chance to get above a 5 on an entry that was clearly DNMC

Nice work, but why City nightscape and not Rural? is it a mispost? I would love to know how you toook this shot all my night shots get the line of time on the stars. or grain of hich iso. I love the texture and detail. good luck.

Doesn't say city very well with such clear sky. Interesting lighting on the foreground though - care headlights?

Having traveled a fair amount I know better than to discount this as not being a city nightscape - some cities do a fine job of incorporating the natural environment - the DOF seems to be lacking somewhat though in that the foreground is soft and undefined.

Hmm. I can only imagine this was submitted to the wrong challenge. I cannot see anything pertaining to 'city' here. Though the lighting of the rock (?) with the dotted stars might suggest that the scene is near artificial lighting... but not enough to convince me it's in a city.
The nightscape aspect of it is really nice though, so I'm giving you 5.
I'm sorry if there was something that I just didn't get in this image!
