Lightning Shot out in Rural River Land 3 Second Exposure and some fun. Noisier than what I wanted it to be, but I reset my ISO earlier in the day and had forgotten it was not set for night exposures. Live and Learn. Still had a blast

I was curious how many people would enter lightning shots in the long exposure challenge, and I had thought of doing it with my own shot , but went with the idea of freezing action instead, thinking the voters wouldn't perceive a lightning shot as long exposure, even if that's how you shoot it.
It looks like you might have focused beyond infinity or just shy- unless things were really softened from noise reduction, things should be a bit sharper than what you ended up with. Times like this, using live-view to ensure things are in focus is a godsend.

could have been a very good pic but you missed the focus here

If this were clearer, it would have been perfect. Still a great capture of the moment.

Lovely shot but would have looked 1,000,000,000 times better if it was not so blury. Either your focus was off or your image stabiliser was still on when the camera was on the tripod or the tripod was not very steady (wind perhaps?)...
