We have some of the red and yellow ones here in my yard. This one has very nice mixed color. These are great for macro shooting. The direct sunlight is pretty hard looking, and at the same time it adds the shadows that bring out the shape of the flower. This is a good angle for the flower, but be thinking about what is lurking in the background when you are shooting. It helps if you can isolate your subject without any distracting elements in your photos by using point of view to control what's seen behind the subject. |

I always think of these as grandiose braggart sorts of flowers ;-) Might try a closer shot/crop on this one to make it really in-your-face. |

I adore hibiscus. Haven't had one in quite a few years, but I always think of Hawaii and how they are everywhere. |
