Photographer’s Notes
Past US Labor Day Holiday, my family and I took a short vacation to Mt. Rainier National Park about 100 miles from where I live. When our son and daughter were children, we would do this every summer. They are now grown, married, with children of their own. So it was fun to reunite the family at this special place.
The photo was taken from the Skyline Trail towards panorama point. This is 1,700 feet above the Inn at Paradise where we stayed and at an altitude of about 6,800 feet above sea level. If you’re used to the thick sweet air of sea level, this is hard work.
The weather was troubled, with low clouds and fog at times. But occasionally the clouds would part and the sun would shine through. This was one of those points.
