Me and my son.
I will always be a shadow here at DPC. I have met 2 people from DPC and can honestly say they are friends. Hope to meet more in time.
Oh yes... Sorry about the confusion, but I can't help that the backpack looks like a third person. I'm not sure if it's my fault or if it's voters that truly don't really take a carefull look at the image before they cast their vote or comment. Maybe both
Was a great challenge. Thanks to all and congrats to the winners

PS. I almost forgot the most important part - Thanks to SilentShooter for helping me with the B&W editing. I knew thi image had to be a B&W version of the colour one but I could not get it right the way I wanted to.

I thought that this was a pretty cool shot. It did take me several looks to figure out that there was no third person, just an incredibly huge backpack - it was the "no legs" part that finally clued me in! lolllllllll

Yet another great image that is not as good an entry to this challenge as it might have been. The two figure are only that, figures. The lack of detail only tells us where they are, but very little about who they are. That more personal level of information is pretty important in this challenge. Outside of this challenge that defect probably makes for a stronger image, because the sense of place here is amazing, and by not being specific about the individuals in the frame we can imagine ourselves there. Great framing and handling of very tricky light.

You're a brave soul taking a self-portrait from that far off. I'm terrified to walk three feet away from my camera and tripod on level ground, let alone on a craggy mountain side. Yikes!
