 (You're prolly gonna see a shot from this shoot in another challenge too.)

The other day I modeled for a photoshoot. It was the biggest artistic cock-block ever. All the work of directing a shoot, but at the end I watched my friend walk away with all the photos, I went home with naught.

So, I kind of was climbing the walls, trying to find some way to burn off extra energy.

Somehow I ended up lighting a crystal and working a still life...

The crystal is carved quartz. It's about five centimeters high. It's resting on a tightly-stretched, very porous, silk. Held in a clamp above is a little laser pointer aimed roughly at the tip of the crystal.

I would push start on the camera's timer, then grab a water can and get into position. As the frame fired -- working in the dark at long exposure, of course -- I would be sprinkling water from one hand and fine-tuning the aim of the laser pointer with the other.

Had a lot of shots with flash too, but this was not one of them.
