Yes, this is DNMC, but whatever. I didn't have time to shoot this one properly. My teammates think this will get crushed. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

This is doing much higher than I anticipated. I expected to get absolutely crushed by the DNMC votes. Maybe I fooled people? : )

This actually took me less than 20 minutes, which included brewing the coffee, setting up the lights and the spill, deciding that the coffee wasn't dark enough, adding some paint (my grandmother was painting) to darken the coffee, re-setting up the coffee spill, and shooting. The editing took maybe another 20 minutes. Probably one of my fastest set-up shoots for a challenge, if not the fastest.

Post-challenge:
I'm surprised this did so well. maybe DNMC is the way to go : )

Anyway, the idea for this came from an oil spill I saw about two years ago when I had really bad wanderlust. I saw Africa everywhere -- in music, in magazine articles, my taxi driver, etc. The oil spill in my driveway was shaped just like the continent and even included Madagascar. Needless to say, that didn't really help my wanderlust at the time, but it did inspire me for this challenge.

Not a bad finish at all!
No offence but I'm surprised it didn't pull much more DNCM votes! It's good to be wrong! :-)

I love this, it was my tip for the top. Not to worry, it made the top 20. Congrats on a great image.

Cute but really looks set-up, not an accidental find.

Very good idea but I fear that many voters will penalize you: Your subject should not be created specifically for this challenge.

I hope I'm wrong :)
