The kitelike thing is a neon trapezoid hanging in the darkened shop. The motel is a reflection. (I flipped the photo) I really wanted to get the feel of an old post card.
I had to work hard to find just the right angle.

I'm confused by this one. That red kite-shaped neon thing looks strangly out of place but I can't figure out what it is to begin with.

Looks it was taken through a car window giving a snap-shot feel. Don't like that power line that runs right through the center of the image.

Interesting reflections. This does look like a Route 66 historical site. I might have played with the title a bit to help some of the folks that didn't take enough time to look at this close enough to see the reflection.
How about:
Reflecting back on Route 66

Hmm...interesting photo. I'm not too crazy about the border on this, and it's a the extra reflection in the window on the bottom left detracts a bit from the image. Maybe a polarizer would of helped cut that out? Overall though, I like the whole feel and atmosphere of the shot.
