On the way to work one morning this week, I stopped at a little park that I have stopped at many times before. I really enjoy the setup with the water, trees, and paths. Plus there always seems to be an abundance of ducks or other birds.
On this particular trip I was looking at the fall colors, and especially the details of the scene when this lone leaf caught my eye. The way it was holding onto the branch, with a nice blue sky background, and cool heart shape really called out to me. So with the 100-400 lens I grabbed a number of shots, blurring the background as much as possible (the dark spots are tree branches).
I never really intended this to have a pink background, but as I was messing with the white balance, I really like what pushing the yellows and purples did to this. as I kept pushing, I kept liking it more and more. Later in the day I found out the challenge for the week was pink, so I knew I had my entry.

* More white balance
* Increase definition of leaf
* Increase saturation and vibrancy
* Color adjust leaf:
** Decrease red saturation while increasing luminance and tinting toward yellow
** Increase yellow saturation and luminance
* Sharpen Leaf
* Export as TIFF
* Resize
* Sharpen Edges
* Save as JPEG |
