 Pastiche Sun Flower. Purchased 5, shot 2.Used a background of white poster paper. I was going after the look of some old botanical prints I've seen and also reviewed on the web. Pity no text or multipe imagery allowed in the challenge. Might have been fun.
Post: Processed the entire image with layer adjustments for levels, brightness contrast, Hue and saturation. USM. Selected the back ground and the bottle/vase that held the flowers, reset the white point to the dark green bottle and got the white background. Cloned away the few remnants of the bottle. Dodged the insides of the flowers and the two buds.Cleaned up some small bright white highlights in the leaves. Ran through neat image...still a lot of noise so I gave it a small dose of buzz simplifier no.1 Framed, resized, USM.

I liked this more until i scrolled down. I would have preferred to see the stalk go all the way down to the bottom of the pic. It looks a little awkward this way

I think the colors could use a bit more saturation to bring out their luster.

Looks very unreal to me, floating, without any reference to its environment. I agree it would fit well in encyclopedia type of book about botany, but I don't find it an attractive image.

Cool. The whit background really sets off the plant and flowers. I'm not a huge fan or borders, but this one is fairly non-obtrusive and holds it together nicely. Exosure seems perfect as does the focus.
